Hi i too just purchased a second hand r171 and have faced the same issues. Ok so over the weekend i decided to put my new 20 wheels on the car. Mercedes dealers have a special lubricant for this purpose to make the seal supple flexible again only takes a few minutes for them to clean apply this. I originally suspected that it was because the roof wasn t closing properly because there was a hydralic leak issue but i had that fixed and the creaking is still there.
